UK to cooperate with Ukraine in PS752 probe – news politics

The British official invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to pay a visit in the near future.



“[I’ve] met with my colleague Dominic Raab. Appreciate his words about firm and unquestionable support of Ukraine. Exchanged views about ways of cooperating in investigating PS752 and agreed to work together on this and other issues, in particular on defending Ukraine’s sovereignty,” the Ukrainian foreign minister wrote on Twitter on January 16, 2020.

Prystaiko also said Raab had reiterated an invitation for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to visit the UK in the near future.

“Agreed to speed up negotiations on a new comprehensive agreement, covering relations after Brexit,” Prystaiko tweeted.

The minister also said he had opened his visit to the United Kingdom by meeting Chairman of the Friendship Group for Ukraine John Whittingdale and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Tom Tugendhat, who are vocal advocates for Ukraine.

“[We] discussed [the] PS752 tragedy and our joint steps towards ensuring justice – and also the situation in eastern Ukraine,” Prystaiko said.
